1) What happens in the event of a breakdown?

All cars are covered by RAC breakdown and recovery. In the event of a problem, the RAC will try and fix the car but if they can’t do this, they will bring the car back to base or to a nearby garage for repair.

2) Do I have to pay cash for the security deposit?

No. We ask the hirer to sign an open credit card voucher to cover the security deposit. We do not normally accept bookings from anyone who does not have a credit card, which can be used for this purpose.

3) What is the excess/security deposit for?

The security deposit, payable on the day of hire, is to cover the insurance excess. Details are on the website or booking form. This is refundable on return of the car (see below). If the hirer cannot refuel the car, receives any parking or speeding fines, or causes any minor damage to the car, then we need to be able to recover these costs. It also allows us to charge any excess on any insurance claims, should the hirer refuse to pay any invoice raised against damage done up to the excess limit.

4) Petrol

The cars all go out with a full tank of petrol and the hirers must return them with a full tank. There are a number of petrol stations within a couple of miles of our base. We will advise you on the type of fuel suited to the car before you drive it away. If for some reason you are unable to refuel the car, we will do this for you and charge the fuel and an administration charge to your credit card.

5) Do we charge a mileage rate?

At present we do not charge a mileage rate so that you can enjoy the car with no worry of extra charges :-)

6) when booking how much time in advance do I need to book?

In terms of a time-period - and in general - two to three months ahead should in most cases allow for availability, although having said that some clients prefer to book a very long time in advance to guarantee that they get the 'right' car for that special occasion/birthday! Please note we only have one of each car at the moment. Having said that booking inside two to three months is quite possible and just comes down to the fact of whether the car in question has been reserved by another client and what remains available to you. Overall it is better to book earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.

7) Is insurance for my hire included in the hire price?

Included in the hire premium is fully comprehensive motor insurance which is provided to clients by our business insurer. Drivers just have to fit the necessary insurance criteria to be covered for the hire duration. Instead of beginning the process all over again, you simply select a new design (we’re constantly adding new ones) that suits you and away you go.The process is quick, easy and painless.
